Dr. Claudio Gomez is Biochemical Civil Engineer graduated from the Catholic University of Valparaiso, within the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Magallanes, and completed his doctorate in Environmental Engineering in Spain, Master in Environmental and Sanitary Engineering. He has been on the Advisory Board of the former CONAMA, Umag representative on the Board of Clean Production, pollution researcher in Antarctica. Praus Sergio Garcia PUCV Bachelor of Laws (1983), lawyer I. Supreme Court (1984) has developed his practice in environmental and natural resources from their degree, with a particular focus on environmental policy, education / training and consulting. Counsel for the National Forestry Corporation (1986-1990) and member of the professional group creator and coordinator of the National Environmental Commission (CONAMA, 1991-1994) was part of the government team that designed and developed the Basic Law of the Environment (Law 19,300), from the General Secretariat of the Presidency. From March 2007 to date has focused his academic work exclusively at the University of Magallanes, which is an associate professor of the departments of Environmental Law and Public International Law, Faculty of Economics and Law. Has the focus on innovation in the design of educational methodologies, supporting a holistic and constructivist education students. He has led and participated in conferences and seminars Umag, edited a magazine Southern Environmental Law (2009) and lines of inquiry on the sub-Antarctic environmental reality, ecological and social, to improve implementation of existing legal provisions and propose new regulations. Dr. Américo Montiel San Martin has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Magallanes and Doctor of Natural Sciences, University of Bremen (Germany). As ex-grantee German Exchange Service (DAAD) developed his PhD studies at the Institute for Polar and Marine Research Alfred Wegener from Germany. Since 2006, he is Associate Professor of the University of Magallanes and Research Associate at the Foundation CEQUA. Author of several articles ISI, SciELO and book chapter on issues related to biodiversity and ecology of marine benthic communities Southern and Antarctic, with special emphasis on groups of polychaetes.
